NARRANDERA

Narrandera is one of the oldest towns in the Riverina. Located as an overnight and/ or extended visit travel options when on the Newel Highway. Narrandera is a tree town. Lots and lots of established trees. Many over 100 years old.

And, the heritage management is on display for all to see. Narrandera is a very friendly town and is also a town where pride and resident care is also clearly on display.

Narrandera’s strong history is reflected by the various historic attractions present in the town.

Narrandera had its first recorded mention as a pastoral station or "run" (Narrandera Run) in 1848.

The township developed in the early 1860s. Gillinbah Post Office opened nearby on 1 March 1859 and was replaced by the Narrandera office in 1861.

The central Narrandera Memorial Gardens include an unusual ceramic fountain made by Royal Doulton and erected as a memorial to World War 1 in 1922.

The largest playing guitar is also located at Nerrandera.

All of the main church denominations are century plus buildings and all are delightful classic design.

The Narrandera War Memorial is located in the cbd gardens.

The hotels in Narrandera are all classic NSW pubs.

The Narrandera Museum is on the Newel Hgy. The Museum gives great insight to the regional are past.
