NARRANDERA
Narrandera is one of the oldest towns
in the Riverina. Located as an overnight and/ or extended visit travel
options when on the Newel Highway. Narrandera is a tree town. Lots and
lots of established trees. Many over 100 years old.
And, the heritage management is on
display for all to see. Narrandera is a very friendly town and is also
a town where pride and resident care is also clearly on display. 
Narrandera’s strong history
is reflected by the various historic attractions present in the town.
Narrandera had its first
recorded mention as a pastoral station or "run" (Narrandera Run) in
1848.
The township developed in
the early 1860s. Gillinbah Post Office opened nearby on 1 March 1859
and was replaced by the Narrandera office in 1861.
The central Narrandera
Memorial Gardens include an unusual ceramic fountain made by Royal
Doulton and erected as a memorial to World War 1 in 1922.
The largest playing guitar
is also located at Nerrandera.
All of the main church
denominations are century plus buildings and all are delightful
classic design.    
The Narrandera War Memorial
is located in the cbd gardens. 
The hotels in Narrandera
are all classic NSW pubs.   
The Narrandera Museum is on
the Newel Hgy. The Museum gives great insight to the regional are
past.
