PEAK HILL
Peak Hill is the next town after
Narromine when heading south. Again this nice spot, but the stand out
is the Catholic Church. Wow and wow again. This is a great plus for
Peak Hill because the church is open during the day.
The Newell Highway is a busy
thoroughfare and there is no real reason to stop at Peak Hill, but the
churches do give cause.
There are no immediate details on the
origin or the name Peak Hill. There is not much of a hill either that
adds to the history.
The main street is the classic drive
through thoroughfare and is a busy avenue.
The War Memorial forms a part of the
gardens when entering from the north.
The Peak Hill Museum is a subset of
the corner store.
The hotels is Peak hill are the
classic country offer.
The Churches are pretty magnificent
for the town size.
The Catholic Church on the Newell
Highway deserves a good look. A coffee or refreshment could be timed
for Peak Hill.
