ROBERTSON
Robertson is only visited if traveling
the Moss Vale to Wollongong route. Robertson therefore will not
feature on many/any Bustout traverses or planned routes. Robertson is
therefore a diversion.
There is not a lot to offer, so try
and time a visit with an event. Robertson is active in that regard.
Auctions, footy games or even a refreshment crawl could be a
sufficient catalyst to make the relatively short journey.
Robertson has several arts and craft
shops and galleries, several restaurants and cafes, a hotel and
licensed bowling club, one post office, one grocery store. The Cheese
Factory was very busy on the Sunday visited. That said the town does
have its fair share of essential services.
Bustout encountered a rainy visit. But
was clear on the visit that heritage, lifestyle and pride are
important to the residents of Robertson.
The hotel in Robertson is a tavern in
building style.
The Robertson War Memorial is on the
western end of the cbd strip.
The churches in Robertson are a mix of
the old and classic and small church offer.
Robertson, is a town that will require
some effort/diversion to visit. If there is a bit of time on the
travelers hands the short diversion is worth the effort.
