SYDNEY
Sydney, what should have been the
‘capitol’ of Australia, is a delightful out of control and haphazard
metropolis’s. Take way the harbour and Sydney would not exist, but
because of the harbour and the exploitation there-of, the city well
and truly fires. The Bridge,
 the
Rocks, the Opera House and
 Sydney
Cove
will
forever conspire to delight the world. Sydney constituents are only
too delighted to get on that bandwagon.
Any visitor should allow a week, just
to take in the classic tourist offer. This need not be an expensive
menu; public transport day trippers, walking, the beaches and what’s
free will allow the visitor plenty to delight in. Finding somewhere
for your vehicle in the metro area is not an option in down town
Sydney.
Sydney was established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by
Arthur Phillip, commodore of the First Fleet as a penal colony. The
city is built on hills surrounding Port Jackson which is commonly
known as Sydney Harbour.
The fact the founders were felons to this day has determined the
culture of the city.
Sydney has a reputation as
an international centre for commerce, arts, fashion, culture,
entertainment, music, education and tourism. The New Year fireworks
display being the absolute greatest in the world. Time your visit for
the New Year. You will not regret the decision.
The Sydney War Memorial is
a simple but well placed recognition.

The ANZAC Day Memorial
March is a very moving event.
The pubs
 in
Sydney are lively
and in many instances historic
structures.
There are a number of
Museums in Sydney. The Power House Museum
and Maritime
are recommended.
The Cathedrals in Sydney
are well spread, but worth the effort. Saint
Mary's has photograph restrictions (a joke really)
The historic buildings,
parks, bridge and waterfront make for a delightful and entertaining
visit.
Remember; this does not
have to be an expensive visit.
