HOWARD
Howard is midway between Hervey Bay
and Childers on your way north to Childers. At a minimum Howard is a
coffee or refreshment stop. Visitors will quickly detect a high level
of civic pride.
The museum
and the (for sale) Historic House are worth a look over .
The Howard War Memorial is located on
the Main intersection in the town.
The Howard Grand Hotel has a great
profile in the town and is well patronized.
The Howard Churches are of the ‘old’
era.
Howard was the home of Andrew Fisher, first Federal Member for the
electorate of Wide Bay and first Labour Prime Minister of Australia.
The house he built and lived in, in Howard, still stands. This is a
small town that deserves a more than the cursory look over.
