ILFRACOMBE

The last of the towns to visit when heading west is Ilfracombe. Just 27k’s from Longreach.

Ilfracombe is a small town.

The main industry is sheep rearing, mainly for wool. Ilfracombe is the home of a collection of antique agricultural machinery.

Ilfracombe is a bit of a surprise packet, with so much on offer in 100 mtrs of roadway, and so as a result the traveler will need to allow two to three hours to enjoy and that is not including a dip in the spa.

A number of museums and exhibits determine a serious stop is in order.

Ilfracombe has two churches.

The War Memorial is located in the centre of the strip.

The Wellshot Hotel is famous for its ‘happy hours’

A good look at what is on offer will make the stopover worthwhile.
