WOOLOOGA We are now off the traditional roads (beaten track) on our way to Gin Gin via Biggenden travelling north from Gympie we hit the Wide Bay Hgy (Route 49) for a short time before turning north and through Woolooga. Locations do not get much smaller than Woolooga, but in our Bustout criteria Woolooga cuts the mustard. Woolooga is nestled in a valley but does not display any aspects of ‘sleepy hollow’. The War Memorial is a testament an active community. On checking the wiki internet for a reference Woolooga does not rate a mention. The Woolooga Church is on a hill on the right as you head north. The Woolooga War Memorial is actually a very impressive. And, the Woolooga Hotel beckons for refreshment. Woolooga also has a shop and other services, and a stopover by travelers is welcome.
