WILLIAMSTOWN
Williamstown is the first town
encountered when heading west from Gawler. Williamstown is a small
town and for the most part has the essential services. Williamstown is
in a valley and cool climate features are ever present.
Heritage factors are clearly important
at Williamstown.
Williamstown was originally known as
Victoria Creek. The reason for the change was not identified.
The churches in Williamstown are all
near 150 year old buildings.    
The Williamstown Historic Hotel is the
classic tavern design building. The license has been in operation for
well over 100 years.
The Williamstown War Memorial is
acknowledged on a number of cenotaphs.  
The town is small but there is reason
to pause and enjoy what is a leafy, cool and relaxed environment.
