CARDRONA

Cardrona is a ski field just south of Wanaka. This is a convert ski field where once experienced, under the right conditions is respected as one of the best.

At the base of the ski field is the historic town/location called Cardrona. The Cardrona Hotel is one of the true Pub Icons in the pub vernacular. The Cardrona Hotel is a micro business that to this day is extremely successful.

The famous photographs are a veneer to a successful café, accommodation and bar business.

To quote from the Cardrona Website:-

‘Experience the rustic charm of the hotel's historic restaurant and bar which has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. Catering for groups of up to 120, or Al Fresco dining for 200, the Cardrona Hotel selects only the freshest local produce to create a truly memorable dining experience. An informal collection of artifacts and memorabilia in the hotel gives a small glimpse into the extraordinary human history of this area while creating themed surroundings to complete your experience.’

Cardrona, the township is still preserved through the historic buildings that make the for all intents and purposes the street museum.

Once again we allow the photographs relate the story.
