FAREWELL SPIT After stopping off at Cape Farewell our tour bus commenced the remainder of the short journey to the track that took us onto the Farewell Spit. Another icon of New Zealand. From the air and when traveling by jet plane, you are at an altitude where Farewell Spit beckons you to be at ground level. From the air the spit is an inspiring sight, as the spit curls around from Cape Farewell. It just looks fantastic. We will allow this small selection of photographs to carry the day with the description.     We did this trip with Eco Tours who are based at Collingwood. The trip for us lasted nearly eight hours including afternoon tea and was worth the cost. The commencement of the trip is determined by the tide movements of the day.
