Waikaka is our second town on the route selected to get to Dunedin. The town qualifies for again having the key attributes for synopsis, but Waikaka is a very small town.

This weekend (6th/7th Feb) the cheese rolling competition is being held. This is an annual event that has put Waikaka on the map.

A crowd thriller, the Cheese Rolling is a wonderful afternoon in the hills with spectacular sport, gorgeous views, delicious air and a lot of jolly good laughs. This unique event raises funds to support families in Southland and Otago facing the challenge of autism.

Waikaka has an old Anglican church that is not used, that is close to the War Memorial. The Catholic Church has a great hill side profile.plus the Presbyterian Church

The Waikaka Hotel has good presence in the town.

Waikaka is a small town that have discovered an event that if you are able to coincide the route is nice to visit.
